'DIALOGO' Journal is an international, open-access, peer-reviewed, online journal that welcomes the submission of manuscripts meeting the general criteria of significance and scientific preeminence in all areas of any discussions between science and theology. It is published bi-annually by Dialogo Publishing House, each June & December. 'Dialogo' Serial is a premier resource for in-depth research and analysis to keep pace with the current developments and an authentic forum for high-quality scholarly articles to effectively communicate these developments to practitioners actively engaged in research on topics of interest. It provides rapid publication of manuscripts in virtually all fields of human research with specific endeavors on bridging sciences in dialogue with theologies.

Focus and Scope

(Research Center on the Dialogue between Science & Theology) - the intellectual Owner © RCDST

of the 'Ovidius' University of Constanta. Romania,
in association and partnership with academic institutions and research centers from
Slovakia - Pakistan - Switzerland - Poland - India - Egypt - Uganda - Jordan - Turkey - Argentina - USA - Canada - Germany

has developed this multidisciplinary forum for the dialogue between every scientific domain and any theology or spirituality in an effort to provide a way for leading scholars to share and exchange their views, as well as to comment on the opinions of their peers regarding particular aspects of science and religion. Not limited by ideological orientation, the Journal embraces all areas of theology (biblical, historical, ethical, constructive, doctrinal, etc.) as well as all types of scientific studies (literary, social, psychology, philosophy, astrophysics, evolutionary biology, physics, chemistry, anthropology, biology, genetics, anatomy, neurology, and other science) for a live dialogue, putting together not only their theories but the minds working with them every day. This might include ways to challenge the boundaries within and between religion and science, and or between and within the academy, as well as the boundaries of the sacred and secular, of reason and faith. Ultimately, we want to ask how queer religion, science, and philosophy, can and/or should be. There is no requirement that a single work should address its content to both fields of knowledge, scientific and theological, unless it proposes this; otherwise, it may propose a single subject belonging to a single vision, but it will have to mention at least in the Abstract and in Conclusions the relationship its treated subject has with the other vision. The conference is addressed to scholars from around the world interested in communicating on topics of interest at the crossroads of science and religion. The participation of young scientists, graduates, and students is greatly encouraged; one of the workshop's goals is to offer the new generation an opportunity to present original new results and learn from distinguished researchers' experiences.

Small description of coverage

The bi-annual 'DIALOGO' series promotes reflection and research on critical public issues to which any theology can make a constructive and essential contribution to the relation between science and religion in this era; scientists are also invited to manifest their ideas/theories on the topics in a constructive manner, each section with the same purpose of facing the findings of science with remarkable ideas of any religion that has representatives involved in this conference. We invite you to enter this dialogue with your knowledge, research, and findings to help people understand if / how it is possible for someone to believe in God without convicting science, and, vice versa, if / how a scientist can keep his findings and never renounce his faith in God. As Francisco J. Ayala said, I can believe that I am God's creature without denying that I developed from a single cell in my mother's womb by natural processes (Darwin's Gift to Science and Religion, Joseph Henry Press, Washington, DC, 2007, pg. 175). Read the journal’s full description and purpose on a dedicated page.

 STATEMENT OF POLICY

The Dialogo Journal is one of the publications by which RCDST of The Ovidius University of Constanta seeks to promote critical, hermeneutical, historical, and constructive inquiry into a dialogue between Science and theology. While expecting articles to advance scholarship in their respective fields lucid, compelling, and fresh, the Journal is especially interested in research areas with a broad range of implications for scholars of theology/religion or cross-disciplinary relevance. The Editors welcome submissions in topics related both to theology and science (of any kind), as well as in theology, religious ethics, and philosophy of religion; it may also accept articles that approach the role of religion in culture and society from a historical, sociological, psychological, linguistic, or artistic standpoint (see the particularities of every Session). Articles presenting highly specialized research in limited areas of inquiry may be considered provided that their findings, in the Editors' judgment, are significant for a broader readership. Submissions may not be concurrently under consideration for publication elsewhere.

The Journal requires the assignment of copyright on journal articles and book reviews. The copyright of any published contributions remains with their authors, which, in consideration of publication, needs to be specified by the authors in the Copyright form, giving the Journal the right to publish, index, and publicly display content.

OPEN ACCESS POLICY

Open Access (OA). Open access (OA) refers to free, unrestricted online access to research outputs such as journal articles and books. OA content is open to all, with no access fees. Authors can make their accepted paper available online immediately upon publication for free (“open access”). An open-access model involves publishing articles or books via the OA route on a publisher’s platform. For authors, only some fundamental costs like editing, production, and peer review are included to maintain the normal operations of our company. The charges for the authors may differ according to several motifs - discounts, extra pages, second paper, late submission, and so forth. Also, you have to know that each participant supports the inter-banking transfer charges. These Article Processing Charges (APC) are only used to support publishers in making the published articles freely available to all readers. In order to encourage long-term scientific research, authors are eligible for various discounts on Article Processing Charges (APC)

As responsible for scholarly publishing, the 'Dialogo' Editor has embraced its obligation to disseminate scholarship of the highest standard, to advance scholarly conversation within and across traditional disciplines, and to help define new areas of knowledge and intellectual endeavor when you publish an article in 'Dialogo' Journal, you reap the benefit of a professional publishing house with over a century of commitment to the scholarly enterprise. With our publishing expertise in both traditional and emerging communication channels, we ensure the widespread distribution of your article worldwide and to the broadest audience. Contact the managing editor at the editorial office for more information.

Submit a Manuscript for Review

After successfully logging in, authors can submit manuscripts by using the Publishing Guide and track their progress through the system. Before submitting a paper, please follow the instructions on a dedicated page, Guide for Authors.

After receiving the acceptance of the paper, the author has to fill in and sign the "Author’s Declaration of Originality" (look for the Copyright Form below). Reviewers can download manuscripts from their accounts and submit their reviews to the editors. If you have never submitted a paper or a review to the Dialogo journal before, please click the "Register" button and enter the requested information.

Please note that we do not accept more than two (2) articles per author per issue as a single author. For additional papers submitted and approved for publication by the Scientific Board, you need a coauthorship that assumes it fully (sign the publication agreement as well).

PREPARING FILES FOR ONLINE SUBMISSION

The Editors generally take the optimal length of an article to be 5–20 manuscript pages (900 words per page), including notes, but lengthier submissions of exceptional quality will receive full consideration. Manuscripts should conform to The Chicago Manual of Style (15th edition). Review articles should be 6–8 pages. A title of no more than 20 words should be brief, specific, and informative.

Manuscripts must be written in academic English and begin with a title page with all authors' names, e-mail addresses, and affiliations, followed by the abstract (at least 150 words) and 7-10 keywords (separated by a comma) for indexing. The authors' names should not appear elsewhere in the manuscript.

File formats. The preferred format for submitting manuscripts online is Microsoft Word (.doc files). Download the template from here.

Author Details. The full name of all authors should be given; A comma separates the names of Multiple authors. Provide the full affiliation for each author, including academic affiliation (or postal address), city, postcode, country, and e-mail(optional). If multiple authors have contributed to the article, the details of the corresponding author should be precise. Email address is compulsory for the corresponding authors.

Unnecessary citation of articles from a particular journal to "increase."
Unnecessary citation of articles for the sole purpose of "increasing" the articles' citation is unethical.
Authors should use only citations that are relevant to their manuscripts. The addition of references that are not relevant to the work is strongly discouraged. Irrelevant self-citation to increase one's citation is unethical.

Citations manipulation: the journal's citation is unethical.

NOTE: Please meet all the criteria we have asked for the manuscripts in order to have a higher probability of acceptance. We were honored by receiving top-rated papers from distinguished scholars from all over the world. Still, despite the excellent work of the scientific committee, not all submitted articles were published. Prospective authors were invited to submit papers in any of the three sections of the conference. Altogether, many articles were presented annually by scientists from abroad; only top papers were accepted after a double peer-review process by the International Reviewers Committee and precisely checked by the Technical Committee to maintain the highest standards. Please ask an English speaker to proofread your paper before submitting it!

The evaluation process of the manuscripts. As mentioned in the Journal description, Dialogo has a wide range of contributors and associates outside its board committee who have agreed to volunteer as peer-reviewers for papers in their field of expertise. Therefore, any submitted paper should meet the criteria of 1. not plagiarism**, 2. technical content for the information inside the domain each author declares its paper, 3. template of the Journal [under Chicago style of citation], as well as 4. English grammar educational level. Please note that each paper undergoes a double fully open peer-review process, which means that each submitted paper is reviewed for the above criteria and for original, unpublished research. Any author can contest only one annotation; if the same comment comes from both peer reviewers, then the author edits his paper accordingly. If he denies it again, then the Dialogo board can decline that submission without any other obligation from both sides. The Scientific Committee of peer-reviewers acknowledged by Dialogo Journal can be seen here.

** We run an anti-plagiarism check with a Plagiarism-detector and Grammarly Checker. For details, read our official Policy on plagiarism.

Duplicate manuscripts

"Duplicate publication" is a paper that overlaps substantially with one already published without clearly referencing the previous publication. Previously published versions should be cited as so in the References chapter.
It is unethical for authors to submit a manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously. This includes submitting manuscripts derived from the same data so that there are no substantial differences in the manuscripts. The duplicate submission also includes the submission of the same/similar manuscript in different languages to different journals. When authors submit a manuscript reporting work that has already been reported in large part in a published article or is contained in or closely related to another paper that has been submitted or accepted for publication elsewhere, the letter of submission should clearly say so, and the authors should provide copies of the related material to help the editor decide how to handle the submission.

While the submission of the same paper to several journals/publications simultaneously is considered unethical, there are situations in which such duplications may occur without breaching the ethical responsibility of the authors. In the event of such simultaneous submitance [most of the time due to late time of responsiveness on behalf of journals], we request at least a letter from the author, including a statement of such an attempt. Authors who attempt duplicate publication without such notification should expect at least prompt rejection of the submitted manuscripts. If the editor was not aware of the violations and the article had already been published, then the article might warrant retraction with or without the author’s explanation or approval.
